Director's Message

Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune is one of the largest Multi-disciplinary and Multi-Campus Universities of its kind in the country importing education in eleven facilities and one hundred & eighty educational courses. Now it has 32 constituent Units, located at New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Kolhapur, Sangli, Karad and Solapur.

The Dept. of Social work was introduced from the academic year 1982-83 which was affiliated to Shivaji University. The dept. has completed 27 years successfully and contributed a lot to society as well as in the field of social work. Value addition lies at the core teaching curriculum and it is updated with feedback from fieldwork agencies, GOs and NGOs, Industry communities retain the edge in academics. In order to prepare students to face the new paradigm of LPG(liberalization, Privatization and Globalization) we have been conducting variety of programmes viz. orientation visits, visits to fieldwork agencies, seminars, workshops, paper presentations, group and panel discussions, project work, quizzes, guest lectures case studies, important events in the society, survey on various social problems, capacity building programmes, role modeling, mock negotiation and strategy formation.

Our aim is to dedicate the Institutions activities for the progress and welfare of the weaker sections of the Society and to reach the unreached and promote the Higher Education of the highest quality.

I am sure we will meet the ever changing needs of our society and collaborate our sincere and honest efforts towards social work department. I wish all the success to social work educators in their team efforts which will be very happy, productive and interesting for all of us.
